Background

The NPPS P&C has only run one fete in the last 10 years. This was in 2006 and it was a significant achievement for both funding and for community feedback. One key achievement was the feedback that our fete was fun, friendly and affordable. Our model was to involve all classrooms in specific initiatives with the expectation that each class would 'return' a reasonable profit. Financial outlay for the last fete was minimal, and the return expectation was set at a realistic level for a 'first time' fete for the organising committee. For the next organising committee there is a large quantity of re-usable plans, forms, letters, logos etc. The key aim of the school fete is to raise funds for use by the P&C in a manner that the community finds appealing. During the last fete we utilised a large quantity of goodwill from both the local community and organisations associated with school families. A number of these organisations and individuals are happy to support our fete again.
